I used many different programs to finish this project, but mostly Procreate and Procreate Dream and I did final edits in Adobe Premiere Pro. This project was a form of exploration, as I had never used Procreate Dream before. The combination between creating a narrative of exploration and the process within its creation I feel the tools enhance the narrative.

Through focusing on a small microcosm of life, “Moni and Tori” is a hand-drawn animation that explores the cycle of one's creative toolkit. Utilizing an approachable narrative, Moni and Tori delve into the cyclical nature of growth and how forgotten items can become new and regain value. The characters, inspired by KRK dual monitors, are a personification of connection and care between the speakers and advanced to beginner artists. Each element of the narrative has its own lifecycle, the room grows into a home and shows the advancement of the inhabitants creative process, while the protagonist and its pair find a new young artist and regain their purpose and significance. This project went on to win first place in the University of Boulder UMC Student Arts Council art show 2024.

For this project, I drew inspiration from KRK monitors, since I always thought they would make a really cute character. Through ideating, I focused on the pair aspect of the monitors, they work best together. I wanted it to move in a similar way to a cat, the small jumps and style is embodied within the character. With a welcoming and simplistic focus the character is designed to be “cute” and relatable to viewers.
